CaHill TechKnow Software Presents:

The

The TechKnow Alignment Trainer

What Is It?

It's not easy to put this simulation into any category. This program
is unique in both it's appearance and function. There is nothing
like it anywhere! We designed this program to be a Training Aid /
Simulator / Quiz / Real World Example and be FUN TO USE. You'll
actually do alignments on a car that's just like doing them in a shop!

Real World down to tire air pressure and locking pins on the rack.

There's a classroom, shop with alignment equipment and tools, parts
room
, and manuals, all for you to use as you need them.

Test drive the car before and after repairs. Does it pull to the right or
left? Does it "Dog Track"? Inspect the tires, you can look at the wear patterns.
Check the front and rear suspension parts. Get it back in the shop and use
your alignment machine, rack and tools to test and adjust the car to peak it out.

Alignment is not just getting the "lights green"
as you'll learn. The
TechKnow Alignment Trainer will show you how to do it right.

Thousands of hours of programming went into this project and it
shows. This is not a book on computer, but an Alignment Training System.

The Lead Developer

The Lead Developer (Neal Barnhill) is extremely knowledgeable
in alignments and taught them in a post secondary environment
for many years. He gave many seminars to techs in the field and
to High School Instructors. He was a contributing editor to
Brake & Front End Magazine.

Neal has gone on to bigger and better things because of his
abilities with computers and programming, but his legacy in
the alignment field will endure with this program, his writings
and in the minds of students that were lucky enough to have
Neal as an Instructor.

The Alignment Trainer is a marvel in its self, but what gives it its
greatest value, is the knowledge of its writer... You'll be tutored,
in the program by one of the best. It's almost like having Neal
showing and telling you, how to do it right.

Students

We've had students tell us that they've learned more using this
program, than they did in ten days of classroom and shop training...
If you're a student interested in alignments, you will enjoy
learning from this program. The tips and tricks you'll learn will
make you money in the future and help to make your customers
happy.

ASE

Want to improve your chances significantly, of passing the ASE
Alignment Test
? We know this program will help a lot! Real World
Training
without the real world alignment rack, machine and tools.
We've had many people tell us that The TechKnow Alignment
Trainer was the reason they passed the test...

Educators

If you're a teacher of automotive or even truck alignment, this
program will not only help your students but it will make your
job easier.

If you have a projector connected to your computer, you're in for
a new kind of experience; when you have your class align a car
and see the result as it's "driven" down the road. Or you can have
your students use it alone or in groups without a projector...

This is from one of our customers:

 PS

 ....
Your Alignment Trainer is undoubtedly the best trainer
I have ever found or used. The students and I have really
enjoyed using and learning from it. It is really hard to
have enough live alignments in the shop for everyone to
have hands on. This is the next best thing to live work I
 have ever seen.

Our current curriculum is for Transportation Core (an
introduction to auto & safety), Automotive Electronics,
Brakes, Steering & Suspension and Engine Performance.
If you have any other trainers that would help us in
these areas, Please send me the information.

Thanks again, John

Thank you, very much for your kind words, John...

Yes, John, we'll have more soon...

School Funding

We originally developed this program for educators to purchase through their schools.
If you're in the education field, you know how hard that process can be. We know it
too, so we've lowered the price to make it available to nearly anyone including techs,
students and teachers.

Key Benefits

Now Let's Take a Look at the TechKnow Alignment Trainer

When entering the program you are presented with a choice
of either the Quiz section or the Alignment section (Fig. 1) below. We will start
with the Quiz selection, as shown in Fig. 2.

Each of the four areas listed contain 40 questions on that subject;
one question is shown in Fig. 3. You will not be able to progress
to the next question until the current question is answered correctly,
your score beings continually calculated.

If the student misses a question, the student is offered a chance
to go to school (Fig. 4) to learn more about the subject of the
question.

This is an option that may be turned ON or OFF by the program's owner,
on the password-protected Option Control Room Page (Fig. 5)
(Fig. 6) shows another example of a Quiz question.

To help you get started and guide you through your first
Experiments and Alignments, we've included an Owner's Manual and
Workbook files.  These can be printed off and copied if you wish.

Screen Shoots

We have now selected Experimental Vehicle.

This is a very interesting section of the program.  You'll note that
the RED car is shown on screen Fig. 1 above, ready for a test drive.     Driving the vehicle with no defect will of course result in a straight path with a centered steering wheel.

If, however, you click on the alignment machine (second from the left) the Alignment Control Panel will come up and you can change any of the settings on this page with a resultant affect on vehicle operation shown with the next test drive.

Front parts, rear parts or both can be set to good or bad
by clicking of the parts box in the upper left.  Tire pressure can
be adjusted and tire belt condition can be changed by clicking
on the tire.  Clicking on the "V" (View) button on the Alignment
Control Panel, will show a graphic and terminology description
of each adjustment.

Also shown on screen one, are the four tire buttons that will
display each tire and its wear pattern relative to the defect or
adjustment entered on the Alignment Control Panel.  The
button with the little Yellow car shows vehicle tracking
(dog-tracking). The little strip of road in the lower right will
change the road surface from flat to crowned so the vehicle
can be driven on both surfaces.
